Flower Show

Flower show will be Wednesday, August 25th, 2010.  Entries will be accepted from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Wednesday.  The flower show is open to all amateur gardeners.

I. Horticulture

Cut flowers shall consist of a single specimen of the flower in a clear glass container.  The flowers must be grown by the exhibitor.

GENERAL RULES & INFORMATION

(Rules are subject to change without notice)

*Ribbons will be awarded in each class and Best of Show in each category.  Best of Show presentations will be made on Wednesday, August 25th at 6:00 pm.

*Exhibits must have been processed and grown or made since the 2009 Fair.

*All Departments will have both an Adult and Youth Division unless otherwise noted.

*Each exhibit and entry must be listed in the NAME OF THE BONA FIDE OWNER and must be the work of the person entering it.

*All exhibitors must see that all their entries are properly tagged before leaving.  Only fair workers and authorized personnel are allowed in the exhibit area during registration and judging.

*Where there is no competition, the judge shall have the authority to place according to merit of the exhibit and entry.

*While every precaution will be taken to safeguard exhibits and entries; it should be understood that the Fair will not be responsible for damage, accident or loss that may occur.

*All exhibits shall be under the control of the fair during exhibition.  No exhibits shall be removed from the Fair before pickup times specified.  All entries not removed by stated time will be disposed of by fair board.

*No person shall enter more than one article per class.

*All entries must contain the amount called for in its class to be eligible for judging.  Any entry that does not fit in any class will be displayed only.

*The Fair reserves the right to refuse any item considered unsuitable for fair exhibit.

*Only persons residing in, working in or going to school in Marion County are eligible to enter.

*Youth are defined as being in the 12th grade and under during the school year (2010-2011).

*Individual exhibits and entries will be accepted on Monday, August 23rd from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm and Tuesday, August 24th from 8:00 am to 9:30 am.

*All exhibits and entries must be removed on or before Sunday, August 29th, 2010 by 10:00 am

*Advertising on the grounds by means of posters, handbills, samples, etc., will not be permitted except upon agreement with the Fair board.

*No soliciting of funds, selling etc. will be permitted except with the agreement of the Fair board.

*No pets will be permitted in the exhibit or livestock areas.
